Trick or Treat at Addington Place of Burlington is from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., located at 5175 West Ave. For more information, call 319-752-0260.

Haunted Halls is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Edward Stone Middle School. Ditch the hall pass and roam through three floors of spook-tacular safe trick-or-treating fun at Edward Stone Middle School. This event is free and open to the public.

Trick-Or-Treat Main Street from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Main Street in Mediapolis. Mediapolis businesses welcome trick-or-treaters to haunt Main Street and collect treats from participating businesses – rain or shine. The street will be closed from Orchard to Harrison for this event.

Bingo at Moose Lodge #579, 2529 Mount Pleasant St. Doors open at 4 p.m., Early Bird at 6:20 p.m. Yolanda’s food available with carry out.

Thrasher's House of Terror haunted house, located at 405 E Threshers Rd in Mt. Pleasant, from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. General admission is $10, fast pass admission is $20. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Friday, Oct. 28

Trick or Treat at The Views from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at OakView Nursing/Rehabilitation & RidgeView Assisted Living.The Views of Burlington invite area families to enjoy a fun trick-or-treat experience with hot dogs, chips and drinks – and to share their creative costuming with seniors at both facilities. This event is free and open to the public.

Vacation Through Time: Salem is from 1 to 5 p.m. at Burlington Public Library. Travel through time to 1692 Salem, Massachusetts. Get an exclusive tour, learn the history surrounding the Salem witch trials and interact with fun – but spooky – exhibits. This event is free and open to the public; registration is not required – just drop in any time.

Downtown Trick-or-Treat from 4 to 6 p.m. in downtown Burlington. Bring the kiddos downtown for their very own shopping spree – no dollars required.

Downtown Trick-or-Treat the Burlington Elk's Lodge #84 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Lodge will open for the public at 4 p.m. Candy for the kids from 4-6 p.m. DJ Michael will begin playing Halloween and pop music at 5 p.m.

Special Needs Trunk-or-Treat from 6 to 7 p.m. at Westland Mall. Families with special needs are invited to trick-or-treat safely at this special annual event from Through Joshua’s Eyes. Please register on the website or call (319) 759-0552.

Mount Pleasant Community Theater presents “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculation” by Don Zolidis at 7 p.m. at the Theatre Museum of Repertoire Americana, 405 E. Thresher Road. Admission is a freewill donation at the door.

Haunted Shop from 7 to 11 p.m. at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington. SCC Auto Club dares you to make your way through the Haunted Shop. Admission is $5, or $4 with a canned food item for local food pantries. Not ready to brave the Haunted Shop after dark? Visit on Monday instead: admission is just $3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday.

Haunted Auditorium is from 7 to 11:30 p.m. at Memorial Auditorium. Head to the Burlington riverfront for the freakiest fun, the creepiest creatures and the spookiest scares this Halloween season. Burlington Riverfront Entertainment resurrects the Haunted Auditorium every Friday and Saturday evening this month. Not recommended for children under 12. Tickets are $10 each at the door, or book a Fast Pass for groups of 6 – 10 to ensure you can experience the terror together.

Lil Ziggy & The Zeu Revue at 7 p.m. at Catfish Bend Convention & Event Center. If you danced the night away at the Pzazzatorium, you remember Ziggy & The Zeu. Dance your way back to those glory days as this beloved group returns to Burlington for one night only. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door and available at Player Services or online.

Rena Karaoke will be on the stage from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Moose Lodge #579, 2529 Mount Pleasant St. Chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and veggies will be served from 5 to 7 p.m.

Ghost of Judas performs at 9 p.m. at Wake N Bake Breakfast Co. You don’t have to get up early for GOJ at Wake N Bake – stay up late and get loud on the west end of Jefferson Street.

"Rocky Horror Picture Show" plays at 10 p.m. at the Capitol Theater. October is horror-ific in downtown Burlington. This week at the Capitol: The longest-running theatrical release in film history, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Costumes are strongly encouraged. Your $15 ticket includes a prop bag – no outside props allowed! Tickets available online and at the Capitol box office.

Ghouls on the Run 5K & Spooky Sprint at 9 a.m. at Burlington Area YMCA. Dress up for a fun run/walk with the Y!

Spooktakular Boo-athlon will begin at 9 a.m. at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center pond trail in Fort Madison. The event, hosted by Promoting Outdoor Recreational Trails of Fort Madison to raise money for recreational trails, includes Kid’s Race; 5K Run/Walk, and a 10K Run/Walk. There will be prizes, refreshments and fun. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and prizes will be awarded for costume categories. Registration forms can be found online at www.fortmadison-ia.com under the Community tab/PORT; on the PORT of Fort Madison Facebook page. Registration includes a long-sleeve spooktakular t-shirt while supplies last.

Shug’s Halloween Spooktacular at 10 a.m. at Shug’s Tiny Town in Fort Madison. Pumpkin decorating, costume fun and trick-or-treating through the play center are what’s in store during Shug’s Spooktacular Halloween! Registration is required. Admission is $15 per child, includes admission to the play center for the day.

Kids’ Halloween Party is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Burlington Eagles Club.

Trunk or Treat from noon to 2 p.m. at Heartland Harley Davidson. Local businesses and vendors join Heartland Harley Davidson for the third annual HHD Trunk or Treat. This event is free and open to the public. In the parking lot at Heartland.

Hallow’s Eve Expo at 10 a.m. at Catfish Bend Convention & Event Center. Enjoy a day of “spook-tacular” fun at Catfish Bend, with a craft & vendor show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., kids Halloween costume contest and candy giveaway from 1 to 6 p.m., an exclusive Halloween drawing at Catfish Bend Casino and lots more.

Halloween Hangover Brunch is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cornerstone Wedding & Event Center. Cure that Halloween hangover with all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage, live music and a (cash) bloody-mary-and-mimosa bar. $10 per person covers brunch and entertainment.
