Things to do this weekend: St. Patrick’s fun, concerts, meet Kevin from ‘The Office’

Even though most of the St. Patrick’s Day festivities in Wichita took place last weekend, the calendar is still full of plenty of St. Patty’s fun this weekend, and the green beer will be flowing both Friday (the actual holiday) and Saturday in restaurants and bars across town.

Following is a list of places to celebrate as well as a few other ideas of things to do for fun during the coming weekend.

Where to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this weekend:

St. Patrick’s Catholic Church parade: This event, which is open to the public, starts at 2 p.m. Friday at 25th and Arkansas and will travel to the church parking lot at 2007 N. Arkansas where, until 5 p.m., attendees can enjoy games, food and entertainment.

Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl: This sixth annual bar crawl lasts from 4 p.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday, and attendees will travel to several different bars in Old Town. Check in is at Peerless, 919 E. Douglas, then ticket holders can get food specials, drink specials and more at the participating crawl stops, which include Fever Night Life, Industry Old Town, XY Bar and more. Chicken N Pickle St. Patrick’s Day party: The venue at 1240 N. Greenwich is putting on an event from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday that includes face painting, a kids’ scavenger hunt that lasts from 5 to 7 p.m., vendors and St. Patrick’s Day-inspired drinks. Admission is free.

Wichita Union Stockyards: The venue at 6425 W MacArthur Road is making a weekend of it. On Friday there are dance lessons and a costume contest. On Saturday, there will be food trucks and Bucky Fowler and Southern Charm will perform. Wear green either night for a chance to win prizes.

Two Brothers Sixth Annual St. Patrick’s Day Post-Paddy Party: This day-after party, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday at the Two Brothers at 6730 W. Central, includes a big outdoor beer garden serving green beer, activities like corn hole and a bounce house, and food specials like corned beef and cabbage or bangers and mash for sale.

The Brickyard, 129 N. Rock Island, with the band Monterey Jack starting at 9 p.m. Friday

Deano’s, 9747 E. 21st St.: With a celebration that starts at 11 a.m. and continues all day, featuring green beer, corned beef Reubens, whiskey and more. Be sure to wear green.

Mort’s Martini Bar, 923 E. First St.: With a St. Patrick’s Day celebration featuring Sunshine the Bunny starting at 8 p.m. Friday.

Mortdecai’s Tavern & Eatery, 330 S. Greenwich: With a party that lasts from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and features the band Annie Up;

Ziggy’s, 3700 E. Douglas: With the restaurant’s 11th annual St. Patrick’s Party happening both Friday and Saturday and featuring green beer, drink specials and more.

REO Speedwagon

8 p.m. Saturday, Hartman Arena, 8151 N. Hartman Arena Drive, Park City

Famous classic rock band REO Speedwagon, known for hits like “Can’t Fight This Feeling” and “Keep on Loving You,” will perform a concert scheduled to start at 8 p.m. Saturday at Hartman Arena in Park City. The group’s opening act, Levon, will take the stage first. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $42-$128 at www.hartmanarena.com.

Kevin Malone meet-and-greet

7 p.m. Friday, 3 p.m. Sunday, Charles Koch Arena, 1845 Fairmount St.

Want to meet Kevin, the tall, doofy guy from the hit show “The Office?” The actor who played Kevin Malone — Brian Baumgartner — will be at a celebrity meet-and-greet at the Wichita Sky Kings professional basketball team’s games this weekend. He’ll be at the 7 p.m. Friday game vs. the Shreveport Mavericks and at the 3 p.m. Sunday game vs. the Rockwall 7ers. Both games are at Koch Arena. Pink Floyd laser show

8 p.m. Saturday, Cotillion, 11120 W. Kellogg

Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular, a cult-classic touring show that’s been on the road since 1986, will be at the Cotillion on Saturday. The show features the songs of the legendary band paired with laser lights and video projection. It starts at 8 p.m., and doors open at 7 p.m. All seating is reserved, and tickets are $30 to $45 at thecotillion.com

Time machine concert

7:30 p.m. Friday, Orpheum Theatre, 200 N. Broadway

Million Dollar Time Machine — a tribute show that brings famous acts, one-by-one, onto the stage via a time machine, will arrive at The Orpheum Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fans can expect the time machine to deliver Johnny Cash, Pat Benatar, Bono, Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, Madonna, Whitney Houston and more by way of top-rate impersonators. Chamber music

5:30 p.m. Sunday, Wichita Art Museum, 1400 Museum Blvd.

Akropolis Reed Quintet is the next act scheduled to perform as part of the Chamber Music Society of Wichita’s 2022-23 ensemble series. The quintet, which is based in Detroit and has been together for 14 years, is set to perform at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the Jim and Darla Farha Great Hall at the Wichita Art Museum. Their performance will be preceded by a 5 p.m. talk. The doors open at 4 p.m., when attendees will have access to a cash bar and boxed food items and when the galleries also will be open.
