Hall of Fame Village Brewfest

The Hall of Fame Village will offer guests the opportunity to sample varieties of beer and wine Jan. 7 at the "Winter Blitz Brewfest."

The event is 3 to 7 p.m. inside the pro-style locker rooms at the stadium. Seasonal beer and wine will be featured from more than 20 local, regional and national brands, along with a variety of food, music and giveaways.

General admission is $25 and includes 10 tasting tickets, a tasting cup and unlimited bar snacks. Designated drivers are admitted for $10 and receive free soft drinks drinks and bar snacks.

The event also offers a VIP experience, which is $40. A VIP designated driver ticket is also available for $25.

Enjoy the botanical garden decorated with Christmas lights at Beech Creek Nature Preserve on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Washington Township.

Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Admission is $12; members are admitted for $6. Children ages 2 and younger are admitted free. Beech Creek is at 11929 Beech St. NE.

New Year's Eve dance featuring La Flavour

La Flavour will perform at a New Year's Eve party on Dec. 31 at Saint George Serbian Orthodox Church Event Center in North Canton.

A $50 ticket includes dinner, dessert, hors d’oeuvres and entertainment. A cash bar also will be available. The event center is at 4667 Applegrove St. NW.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with dinner served 7 to 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.stgeorgenc.org/events/tickets/ or by calling the church office on Tuesday or Thursday at 330-494-2712.

Murder mystery dinner theatre in Massillon on Jan. 7

An interactive murder mystery dinner titled "Oscar Madness" will be presented on Jan. 7 at Santangelo's Party Center at 1008 Ninth St. SW in Massillon.

Tickets, $48.50 for adults and $36.50 for children ages 3 to 12, are available at https://www.tickettailor.com/events/haywarddinnertheatre/787995. The event is 7 to 10:30 p.m. and includes a buffet style dinner featuring barbecue ham and carved sirloin. Charles Hayward is presenting the dinner theatre show, which also includes a cash bar.

The show is set at the Oscars Academy Awards in Hollywood. Attendees are encouraged but not required to dress as if they were invited to an actual Oscars ceremony.

Midwest rock band Red Wanting Blue will headline a New Year's Eve concert on Dec. 31 at Goodyear Theatre in Akron.

The show, presented by The Summit 91.3 FM, also features JD Eicher of the Youngstown area, who tours nationally, and fellow Ohio singer-songwriter Angela Perley. Formed at Ohio University in 1995, Red Wanting Blue plays Americana and roots rock.

Originating in Los Angeles, Anthem Lights released its first album in 2009 under the original name of Yellow Cavalier. Anthem Lights is a pop, rock, Christian and gospel vocal group.

Josh Turner at KSU Performing Arts Center in Tuscarawas

Multi-platinum Nashville recording artist Josh Turner will be in concert at the Performing Arts Center at Kent State University Tuscarawas on Jan. 13.

Turner, who has sold more than 12 million records, is among the youngest members of the Grand Ole Opry, the Performing Arts Center said in a news release.
