Is Shreveport getting another Dunkin Donuts? Here's what we know

What is better than a warm donut? Well maybe the news of a new Dunkin' Donuts.

On Monday, Feb. 21, Shreveport Councilwoman LaVette Fuller officially confirmed the proposed construction of a third Dunkin' Donuts in Shreveport.

This new location is proposed to be located on Kings Highway, between Kings Highway Christian Church and Thornhill Avenue.

This land is owned by the Kings Highway Christian Church, which was struck by lightning in August 2021. The 98-year-old church was heavily damaged during the fire.

Fuller said, "adding a national chain like Dunkin' Donuts to this block of King's Highway will be a striking change to the landscape."

The proposed design will match the historic homes that surround this location, with brick that matches the Kings Highway Christian Church being proposed for the building plans.

"The franchise owner has been very responsive and accommodating to the desires of the Highland community and has made a sincere commitment to blending with the historic aesthetic of the neighborhood," Fuller said.

Shreveport City Council will read the proposal Tuesday, Feb. 22. If approved by city council the construction of this new location can begin.

This location will be the third in the area. Their is currently one location in Shreveport on Youree Drive and another in Bossier City on Jimmy Davis Highway.
