Third round of at-home COVID-19 tests now available free from federal government

May 17—All United States households can now order a third round of free COVID-19 tests from the federal government, according to the government website COVIDtest.gov.

Each order will come in two separate packages of four rapid-antigen tests. Each package will be delivered by the United States Postal Service.

The government website was updated with an announcement Monday.

Any household that wants to receive the tests can go to COVIDtest.gov, enter their name and address and submit their request.

If a household has not previously received the first and second round of tests, the household can now request those free tests after submitting its third-round request.

This third round of availability comes as a number of states are seeing a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.
