Jill MacLean, also known as "Cleo the Hurricane,“ is a pole dancer by profession. When the 36-year-old became pregnant a few months ago, she decided she wasn’t going to let a little bump get in her way.

“I absolutely LOVE being pregnant (for the most part)… but I have also never felt so unsexy,” MacLean shares on her blog.

“I have put on just under 50lb and when I stand naked and look in the mirror I love what I see (my baby belly) however it is in a completely different light to what I’m used to.”

The Australian mom-to-be was struggling with her inability to feel ‘sexy’ so to help boost her confidence, she dressed herself up in her dance gear – stilettos and all – and posed for some photos.

“I have been CRAVING and LOVING that feeling of putting on my heels, a sexy song and pole dancing… just to feel sexy again,” she says.

While MacLean claims that she takes her pregnancy very seriously and simply wanted to have some fun and feel like herself again, many took to social media to criticize the images.

“Posing against a pole isn’t inspiring or sexy in anyway [sic],” said one commenter. “You are pregnant show some respect to your body!”

But MacLean doesn’t let it get her down.

“I am not going to write a speech justifying what I do, as a pole dancer and now as a soon-to-be-mother. But I will say this… As women we all want to feel sexy, this is how I feel sexy… YES.. dressing up as a cop in 8” heels and posing for a picture, or doing the splits. YES.”

MacLean is expecting to deliver any day now. To those who criticize her, she has one thing to say.

“Yes, what I do is still considered ‘taboo’ to some people who don’t know any better, but to me, it is STRENGTH and my PASSION and that is all that matters.”
