Tinder date turned up looking more hapless than hot? The chat you found charming a heck of a lot more *cringe* in real life? Dodgy dates R us! But, aside from hot footing it out the bathroom window, it can be tricky not to mention hugely #awks extracting yourself from the date of doom.

Well, fear not, as one British bar/restaurant has totally got your back. The Brickyard, in St Albans has come up with a genius Tinder policy dedicated to saving their single punter’s backsides.

They’ve put up a sign in their women’s toilets offering to help if a Tinder date goes rogue.

“Tinder Date Gone Wrong?” the poster reads. “Doesn’t look like his picture, or just plain weird? If you’re on a date and it’s not going well, come to the bar and ask for Rachelle or Jennifer and we’ll get you out of it and/or get you a taxi. Your safety is our highest priority.”

More seriously, the sign goes on to encourage anyone who’s being made to feel uncomfortable by another customer at the bar to tell bar staff, so they can ask said inappropriate perpetrator to leave.

“Your safety and happiness is our highest priority,” the sign continues

“If anyone is bothering you or making you feel uncomfortable please tell us. We will discreetly move them away, and if necessary ask them to leave.”

“The Brickyard is safe and fun, we want you to enjoy your time here. Talk to us and we’ll sort it out :)”

Since being uploaded to Imgur earlier this week, a photo of the sign has been viewed more than 190,000 times. And according to The Metro staff at the restaurant have been amazed by the positive response the new policy has received.

“A sign that was designed purely for the safety of our female customers has caught the eyes of thousands (all genders!) and you have all touched our hearts with your support, so thank you for this,” a staff member explained.

“In all honesty, we had no idea our sign would attract this level of attention but in light of the extent of the feedback received, we have plans in place already to launch a similar safety campaign for men.”

Aside from being the Best. Wingman. Ever, the policy actually addresses a subject that has been garnering attention of late – online dating safety. Digital dating is so much the norm these days that it’s all too easy to forget the potential dangers of meeting up with a complete stranger. But a recent survey has revealed that crime reports involving dating apps have risen sevenfold in just two years.

Maybe it’s time other bars and restaurants put a similar bad date policy in place?
