Michael Thomas shines in return to New Orleans Saints

In his first game since Jan. 17, 2021, former Ohio State wide receiver Michael Thomas was at the center of the New Orleans Saints' passing game.

Thomas brought in both of quarterback Jameis Winston's passing touchdown, finishing the Saints' 27-26 win against the Atlanta Falcons with five catches on eight targets for 57 yards.

In his first NFL game, wide receiver Chris Olave added receptions on all three of his targets for 41 yards.

Former Ohio State linebacker Pete Werner led the Saints with 13 tackles and a tackle-for-loss, while cornerback Bradley Roby brought in five tackles and cornerback Marshon Lattimore brought in three tackles.

Curtis Samuel, Terry McLaurin define Washington Commanders passing game

Curtis Samuel and Terry McLaurin proved to be at the center of the Washington Commanders passing attack against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

McLaurin brought in two of his four targets from quarterback Carson Wentz for 58 yards and a 49-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to bring the Commanders to within two points.

Samuel's impact was made early, scoring Washington's first touchdown of the game on a three-yard pass from Wentz. Samuel finished with eight catches on 11 targets for 55 receiving yards, while adding 17 rushing yards on four carries.

Justin Fields does enough for Chicago Bears

In his first start of the 2022 season, Justin Fields' stats were not pretty.

As rain poured on Solider Field Sunday afternoon, the former Ohio State quarterback completed eight of his 17 pass attempts for 121 yards with an interception and two sacks.

But Fields also added touchdown passes to wide receivers Dante Pettis and Equanumeous St. Brown, helping the Bears to a 19-10 win against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fields also added 28 rushing yards on 11 carries.
