Thomas Manor students share in holiday joy during Christmas with Khalid

R&B star Khalid brought holiday smiles to students in the Lower Valley on Friday.

The El Paso pop star joined The Great Khalid Foundation in surprising students at Thomas Manor Elementary with new, wrapped toys.

Foundation officials said in a news release that Thomas Manor Principal Sandra Stresow’s application to have the campus at 7900 Jersey St. named this year’s Christmas with Khalid school was moving as she highlighted the love she has for her students, focusing on the mantras she hopes to instill in each: dream big and believe.

Walmart and Spectrum Reach helped support this year’s Christmas with Khalid, the foundation said.

The Great Khalid Foundation is Khalid’s namesake nonprofit organization. It was founded to advance opportunities in music education and inspire students to thrive academically, the news release said, calling the foundation a labor of love for both the singer and his mother, Linda Wolfe, the foundation's president.
