They thought they heard a bird stuck in the walls. It was actually a Harry Potter toy.

Very noisy owl you've got there ... or maybe not.

A U.K. resident called animal rescue service Friday after hearing what they thought were bird noises inside their wall. Turns out it was a Harry Potter owl toy.

"There was no obvious entry point that the resident could find so it was a mystery to how any bird would’ve found (its) way into the wall cavity," posted Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue on Facebook.

As animal rescue workers drove to the home, the caller reached out to let them know they'd found the culprit.

“I’m really sorry … it’s a Harry Potter Hedwig teddy," the caller said. "One of the kids has been round (and) left it under the sofa."

The toy's namesake, Hedwig, is known in the Potterverse as Harry's snowy owl, delivering mail and keeping him company when he's not fighting dark wizards with yearslong grudges against him. During filming, the bird was played by seven different owls.

Regarding the stuffed toy, the animal rescue service got a laugh out of the situation.

The caller also sent the rescue service a video of the owl toy chirping as its head turned from side to side.

"Well, at least it wasn’t a real bird and we was able to move onto the next rescue," the company posted.
