Thousands Attend Funeral of Pakistan Cleric Who Led Anti-France Protests

Thousands gathered for the funeral of Khadim Hussain Rizvi, the head of the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) party, in Lahore on November 21, local media reported.

The party had organized recent protests calling for the expulsion of the French ambassador to Pakistan and the severing of diplomatic ties between the two countries. A senior leader of the party told Al Jazeera that Rizvi began feeling unwell at the sit-in protest.
