Thousands of Frigidaire refrigerators recalled for laceration, choking hazards

(WHTM) — Thousands of Frigidaire refrigerators have been recalled due to laceration and choking, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Thursday.

The recall affects about 383,240 Frigidaire Side by Side Refrigerators with Slim Ice Buckets.

According to the commission, the recalled refrigerators contain an ice bucket piece that can break and lead to plastic pieces entering the ice bucket.

Refrigerators affected by the recall were manufactured between 2015 and 2019, and include model numbers DGHK2355TF, DGHX2655TF, FFSC2323TS, FGSC2335TD, FGSC2335TF, FGSS2635TD, FGSS2635TE, FGSS2635TF, FGSS2635TP, FPSC2277RF, FPSC2278UF, FPSS2677RF, LFSC2324VF, LGHK2336TD, LGHK2336TF, LGHX2636TD, and LGHX2636TF.

Consumers can find the model and serial numbers printed on a serial plate inside the refrigerator compartment. Consumers can also go to www.frigidaire.com/en/frigidaire-recall-information to check if their refrigerator’s serial number is included in the recall.

The commission is telling consumers to immediately stop using the recalled refrigerator ice makers and contact Electrolux Group to request a free replacement of the ice bucket assembly component.
