Thousands Gather at Washington Monument for Anti-Gun Violence Protest

Demonstrators protesting against gun violence gathered in Washington on Saturday, June 11, as similar protests were scheduled to take place nationwide.

Video from photographer Ben Von Klemperer on Saturday afternoon shows demonstrators carrying signs saying “Am I Next?” and “Protect Kids, Not Guns.”

The march was one of several events across the US that day organized by March For Our Lives in the wake of recent mass shootings, including at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, a grocery store in Buffalo, New York, and a funeral in Racine, Wisconsin.

More than 450 events were scheduled to take place in states across the US, including California, Texas and Florida.
