Thousands Rally in Vancouver in Support of Iranian Protesters

Thousands of people rallied in Vancouver on Monday, September 26, in support of Iranian protesters staging demonstrations over the death of a 22-year-old Mahsa Amini.

Footage by Hamed Hosseini shows crowds of protesters gathered outside the Vancouver Art Gallery.

The protest took place on the same day Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced sanctions against Iran’s morality police and other Iranian individuals and entities.

Amini’s death in police custody sparked a wave of nationwide protests in Iran. According to the Norwegian group Iran Human Rights, 76 protesters have been killed during the unrest. Credit: Hamed Hosseini via Storyful
