Thousands will come together for the ‘March for Our Dreams and Freedom’ to march, rally and advocate for the rights of immigrant communities, transgender, LGTBQ+ individuals, students, reproductive rights and much more.

According to a news release from organizers, “Currently in Florida, the rights of millions in already marginalized communities are being threatened as our state government continues to weaponize the law to restrict, punish and impose the will of a few while ignoring Florida’s real challenges.”

Thousands will join this march to send a clear message to Tallahassee: We exist, we are here, and we will not give up our dreams and freedom, organizers added.

The “March for Our Dreams & Freedom” will take place at Lake Eola on Monday at 5 p.m.

“They tried to erase us by taking away our healthcare and basic human rights, but we are here, and we are putting them on notice that together we are fighting to protect our lives,” said Hope Community Center executive director Felipe Sousa-Lazaballet.

The march will be proceeded by performers, community leaders and speakers from marginalized communities describing the impact this current legislative session has had on their lives and the lives of those in their community.

“We are calling upon all Central Floridians to take action and join with all marginalized communities after one of the most dehumanizing legislative sessions in the history of Florida,” said Sousa-Lazaballet. “We are on the front lines in the fight against fascism.”
