Famous names in country and popular music — Keith Urban and Bobby Jones to Toby Keith and Dolly Parton-owned Dollywood — are among the users to join Threads, Meta's recently launched app.

On July 5, Meta unveiled Threads, a platform allowing users to connect with followers in a manner similar to Elon Musk's Twitter to more than 100 countries.

Urban and Keith, who have sold more than 56 million album units, have joined the platform to stay connected with their fans.

Keith Urban has gained 97,000 followers since joining the new social media app Threads.

Since the app launched, Urban has collected more than 97,000 followers. Keith's profile sits at approximately 23,000 followers.

Keith kicked off his Threads debut with an introductory post where he expressed his possible status as the only cowboy on the platform.

"The only cowboy in this place @threadsapp" Keith wrote.

Musk, the CEO of Twitter, recently put a temporary limit on the number of post users could read per day. The limitations were meant to “address extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation,” Musk said via Twitter.

As a result of the limitations, some Twitter users have migrated to Threads.

Privacy and sharing on Threads

While Twitter is known for its public nature and wide range of features, Threads is engineered to be a more private and intimate social media platform. Threads is designed for sharing content with a smaller group of people, while Twitter is a public platform where anyone can see and interact with your content.

What do you see on Threads?

Threads prompts users to select their Instagram accounts after downloading the app, allowing them to view any mutuals who are also on the app. This is unlike Twitter, which requires new users to create accounts.

Threads limits?

Initially, when Musk implemented a plan to limit how many tweets were read, daily restrictions were 6,000 daily posts for verified accounts, 600 daily posts for unverified accounts and 300 for new unverified accounts.

Meanwhile, Threads has no limits on any of its content sharing features. Users are able to share, update statuses and contact friends without post limit concerns.
