Three advance to final round of Girls Junior

Jul. 14—LEBANON — Three local players advanced to the final round of the Indiana Girls State Junior on Tuesday afternoon at Ulen Country Club.

The original field of 117 was whittled down to 64 players after Tuesday's round.

The top local finisher after two rounds was Zionsville's Lauren Kaltenmark, who is currently 11th in the field.

Entering the day at 7-over, she was one better on Tuesday, shooting a 6-over 77 on the par-71 course.

For the second-straight day she started on the back-nine, and had six pars, two bogeys and a double to make the turn 4-over.

She parred the first six holes on the front, before having back-to-back bogeys on seven and eight and ending her day with a par on nine.

Zionsville resident and University rising senior Becky Williams also made the cut, and is tied for 16th.

Williams had one of the best days in the field on Tuesday, shooting a 4-over 75.

Williams birdied the first and then parred four of the next five holes to sit at even par. She birdied the seventh before having bogeys on eight and nine.

On the back, she had six pars and three bogeys.

The third Boone County player to make the cut was Addison Echeverria.

Echeverria also improved on day two, shooting an 80 in her round. She sits 44th.

Echeverria started on the 10th, and was three-over at the turn, with three bogeys and six pars.

She birdied the first to move to 2-over, but couldn't find the consistency she needed on the back, shooting 7-over on the final eight holes.

Zionsville's Madelaine Diedrich shot an 86 on Tuesday, and finished 71st.

She had a birdie, five pars, nine bogeys and two doubles in her round.

Lebanon's Audrey Patterson finished 78th in the tournament, after shooting a 91 for the second-straight day.

Patterson had three pars, 10 bogeys and five doubles in her round.

Lauryn Herbon also finished tied for 78th. She shot an 87 for her round on Tuesday.

Herbon had two birdies, four pars and eight bogeys in her round.

Madeline Kaltenmark tied for 83rd after shooting 100 for her round. She had a par and seven bogeys.

Lebanon's Ella Taylor tied for 94th after shooting a 95 on Tuesday.

Taylor had three pars and seven bogeys in her round.

Western Boone's Jozzy Lewis was tied for 102nd after day two, shooting a 99 in the second round. She had two pars and eight bogeys.

Zionsville's Amaya Wade placed 104th shooting an improved 92 in round two, including back-to-back birdies on 13 and 14.

Lebanon's Anna Robbins was 107th. She shot 99 for her round, with four pars and three bogeys.

Zionsville's Kaitlyn Adler placed 111th and shot 103 in the second round.

Brianne Reinhardt placed 115th and shot a 125 on Tuesday.

Echeverria will tee off at 8:54 on Wednesday, playing with Fisher's Janelle Garcia and Carmel's Maya Keuling.

Williams will tee off at 10:15, playing with LaGrange's Madison Keil and Fortville's Alaina Nugent.

Kaltenmark will tee off at 10:42, playing with Carmel's Sydney Longstreth and Greenwood's Meg Fosnot.
