Three arrests made in deadly Visalia shooting

Three people were arrested, including a 16-year-old boy, in connection with last week's deadly Visalia shooting, according to police.

The busts were made around 1 a.m. Saturday, after Visalia SWAT served a search warrant in the 1300 block of North Elm Street. The home, just four blocks from where the shooting occurred, is connected to Thursday's incident, detectives said.

Jeremy Tapleras, 36, and Nicholaus Saechao, 19, were questioned by detectives and later booked into the Tulare County Pretrial Facility. The 16-year-old boy was booked into the Juvenile Detention Facility.

Detectives believe the three are responsible for the Thursday afternoon shooting that left one man dead.

Police were called to the 1300 block of North Rinaldi Street, between Houston and Elowin avenues. The first officers on scene found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

Several shell casings littered the asphalt.

The man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died. Police didn't release the man's name or age.

Violent crimes detectives gathered evidence and went door-to-door in the area looking for witnesses and camera footage that could be used in court to link the suspects to the shooting.

The suspects will be in court this week to face charges. They face life in prison.

Anyone with additional information is urged to call Detective Kyle Kalender at 713-4156.
