Three new COVID deaths, 44 new cases in Henderson County, Green River District reports

HENDERSON, Ky. -- There were 44 new cases of COVID-19 recorded for Henderson County in the Green River District Health Department’s numbers released Tuesday, with 279 new cases in the district overall and three new deaths.

The district numbers represent a slight decrease from the previous report on Friday, which counted 288 cases in the district, 51 new cases in Henderson County and eight new deaths. Friday’s report covers the three days from Nov. 16 to 18 while Tuesday’s report covers a four-day span.

The seven-day average for new cases increased from 74.9 on Friday to 80.1 on Tuesday.

The three new COVID-related deaths reported Tuesday were residents of Daviess County. Daviess County continues to see the highest volume of new cases, with 169 of the district’s 279 reported cases. There were six in Hancock County, 10 in McLean County, 34 in Ohio County, seven in Union County and nine in Webster County.

There have been 38,351 reported cases and 612 deaths in the seven-county district since the start of the pandemic in early 2020.

More than 10,500 Kentuckians have lost their lives to COVID-19, with a total of 10,707 total deaths as of Tuesday. There have been 773,602 reported cases statewide over the duration of the pandemic.

GRDHD Public Health Director Clay Horton maintains that the best way to protect yourself against the virus is to get vaccinated and wear a mask when in public.
