Three dead after duplex fire in York city

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — Three people are dead after an early morning fire happened on Wednesday, February 7 at a duplex on Columbia Avenue in York City.

According to Chief William Sleeger of the York City Fire Department, the department received a call at around 6:15 a.m. for a structure fire with entrapment.

When crews arrived there was heavy fire at the duplex. The chief said the fire took about an hour to control and both units of the duplex are a total loss.

The York County Coroner confirmed that the victims included two females and one male. The names and ages of the victims will be released after next-of-kin are notified.

The York City Fire Department, York City Police and the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal are all on the scene.
