ASHLAND − The city Fire Division added three new firefighters this week.

Fire Chief Richard Anderson joined Mayor Matt Miller at Station No. 1 downtown on Monday as Miller administered the oath to Zachery Lohr, Jody Erickson and Chris Gore.

All three are paramedics as well as firefighters. The additions bring the department to full staffing under city ordinance at 37 firefighters, according to Miller.

"That's very significant that we are finally fully staffed because ... we are constantly looking for new firefighters," he said, noting the trio is among those who took the civil service exam. "We continue to look for new ways to recruit quality individuals and we're so pleased to have these gentlemen join the team."
