Three Florida residents died in head-on crash just south of Montgomery

Three people where killed Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash about 15 miles south of Montgomery.

George Turner, 75; Zoya Turner, 64; and Vladislav Shemonaev, 36, all from DeFuniak Springs, Florida, died in the wreck, which occurred about 12:35 p.m. on Tuesday.

The crash happened on U.S. 331 near the 82 mile marker in Montgomery County, according to a press release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Law enforcement said the three were dead at the scene after the 2015 Ford Taurus that George Turner was driving collided head-on with a 2017 Lexus RX 350 driven by William Canary Jr., 70, of Montgomery.

Canary was taken to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.
