Three Fresno-area high school basketball teams receive top seeds in CIF state playoffs

Several Fresno-area high school basketball teams learned of its California Interscholastic Federation state playoff seeds.

The CIF released the pairings on Sunday and listed the Clovis West boys, Dinuba boys and Mendota girls as the top seeds in Division I, III and Division V, respectively.

The Clovis North boys won the Central Section Division I championship and will be the No. 3 seed in the Open Division.

The Broncos will face No. 6 Branson-Ross at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The Clovis West girls will also play in the Open Division and is the No. 2 seed and will not play until March 2.

Games will be played at 7 p.m. Tuesday, unless noted.

Boys basketball

Open Division

NorCal: No. 3 Clovis North will meet No. 6 Branson-Ross on Wednesday.

SoCal: None

Division I

NorCal: Clovis West is the top-seed and will play No. 16 Dublin.

SoCal: None

Division II

NorCal: No. 16 Clovis East will visit No. 1 Branham-San Jose.

SoCal: None.

Division III

NorCal: No. 6 Bullard hosts No. 11 Central Catholic-Modesto while No. 10 San Joaquin Memorial visits No. 7 Christian Brothers-Sacramento.

SoCal: No. 1 Dinuba hosts No. 16 Price-Los Angeles.

Division IV

NorCal: No. 16 Kerman will visit No. 1 Santa Teresa-San Jose. Sierra is the third-seed and will host No. 14 Monterey.

SoCal: None.

Division V

NorCal: No. 14 Caruthers travels to No. 3 Oakwood-Morgan Hill.

SoCal: In a matchup of Central Section foes, No. 8 Firebaugh hosts No. 9 Coalinga. No. 6 Corcoran hosts No. 11 Bernstein-Hollywood.

Girls basketball

Open Division

NorCal: No. 2 Clovis West receives a bye and will face the winner between No. 3 St. Mary’s-Stockton or San Ramon Valley on March 2.

SoCal: None.

Division I

NorCal: None.

SoCal: Monache is the 12th seed and will face No. 5 Orangwood Academy.

Division II

NorCal: Buchanan is the sixth seed and will play No. 11 Anteolpe.

SoCal: None.

Division III

NorCal: No. 4 Clovis will battle No. 13 Cornerstone Christian-Antioch and No. 12 Clovis East will visit No. 5 Mills-Millbrae. No. 14 Caruthers will visit Christopher-Gilroy. No. 7 San Joaquin Memorial will host No. 10 Manteca. No. 2 Central will host No. 15 Justin-Siena-Napa.

SoCal: None.

Division IV

Division V

NorCal: Mendota is the top-seed and receives a bye.

SoCal: No. 4 Immanuel hosts No. 13 Rosamond.
