Three passengers on a Ukrainian bus were hospitalized with injuries after a nighttime accident near the village of Vyshnytsia in Poland's Lublin Voivodeship (province), Barbara Salczynska-Pyrchla, spokeswoman for the Biała Podlaska police, told Ukrinform news agency on Jan. 19.

The bus, which had 26 people on board, was traveling from Riga to Chernivtsi.

Preliminary data suggests that the driver lost control of the bus due to bad weather conditions. The bus left the road on a curve, hit a barrier, overturned, and, finally, crashed into a tree. Alcohol was not involved.

An 80-year-old woman was among the three people transported to hospitals. The rest of the passengers were taken to a temporary location to wait for another bus.

Earlier, a bus from Ukraine overturned in Slovakia. Eight passengers, including children, wereinjured, Slovak regional police department in Košice reported on Dec. 17.
