Three indicted by federal grand jury on child porn charges

Three men were indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday for crimes related to child pornography.

It's not clear if there is any connection between the three other than the timing of the grand jury's decision. As is typical with grand jury indictments, few details are available initially.

Of the three, the most serious charge is levied against Travis Isham, 31, who authorities believe enticed or coerced two minor girls in October for the purposes of creating child pornography. That crime carries a penalty of 15 to 30 years in prison.

Phillip Rodgers, 52, of Taney County, and Marvin Smith, 43, of Greene County, are both charged with receiving and distributing child pornography.

Authorities say Rodgers transferred the pornography sometime between May of 2018 and February of this year. The range of punishment for that crime is 5 to 20 years.

Documents say Smith is believed to have transferred child pornography between June of 2022 and February of 2023. His range of punishment, if convicted, is increased to 15 to 40 years in prison because he is a prior offender.
