Three Injured After Plane Crash-lands at Miami International Airport
A plane carrying 126 people caught fire when its landing gear collapsed on the runway at Miami International Airport on June 21, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR).
Video tweeted by @findmory showed the damaged jetliner owned by Red Air, a discount airline based in the Dominican Republic.
Miami International Airport said the collapse of the landing gear in the nose of the aircraft appeared to be the cause of the fire. The fire was extinguished with foam by firefighters.
MDFR said three people on board the plane sustained injuries and were hospitalized.
The National Transportation Safety Board said the jet was a McDonnell Douglas MD-82 and was investigating the cause of the crash.
