Three injured in rollover crash Thursday

Oct. 26—Three people, including one juvenile, were hospitalized after a crash Thursday five miles west of St. Joseph.

Calvin Guenther, 18, of Wathena, Kansas, was southbound in a 1990 Cadillac Seville on Northwest Airport Road when he lost control of the vehicle and traveled off the side of the roadway, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports.

The Seville returned to the road and began skidding, before going off the side of the road again and striking a traffic sign and an embankment. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest on its wheels.

Guenther and two passengers, Sophie Juhl, 18, and a 14-year-old boy, were all taken to Mosaic Life Care by Buchanan County EMS for injuries.

Neither Guenther nor Juhl were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to crash reports.
