Three New Jersey lottery players win $10K playing Mega Millions

Three New Jersey lottery players took home $10,000 prizes last week playing the Mega Millions, the New Jersey Lottery announced Monday.

Two lottery players won their prizes in Tuesday's drawing and were sold at the Country Farm on Route 206 in Southampton (Burlington County) and a Krauszer's on Durham Avenue in Metuchen (Middlesex County). In Friday's drawing, a ticket sold through the Jackpocket app also won $10,000.

The next Mega Millions drawing is Tuesday night and features a jackpot of $289 million with a cash option of $132 million.

The jackpot was last won on Oct. 6 when a lottery player in Texas won a $360 million jackpot.

Jersey Cash 5 winners

The biggest prizes handed out last week by the New Jersey Lottery were to two Jersey Cash 5 jackpot winners. A ticket in Tuesday's drawing won $210,864 and was sold at a QuickChek on Stelton Road in Piscataway (Middlesex County). Another $137,415 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot was won on Thursday and the ticket was sold at a Country Farm on Route 50 in Mays Landing (Atlantic County).

Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.

How do I play Mega Millions?

The cost is $2 per ticket, but you can add the Megaplier for $1, which will increase the amount of your potential prize up to five times the original prize (except for the jackpot).

Each player selects five numbers from 1 to 70 for the white balls and one number from 1 to 25 for the Mega Ball. However, you can also have the lottery machine generate a random Quick Pick for you. You don't need to be a U.S. citizen or a resident of a particular state where you purchase your ticket.

How many balls do I need to match for Mega Millions prize?
