Three Marion locations seek medical marijuana dispensary licenses. See the list

The Ohio Board of Pharmacy released the company names and addresses for the 1,462 applicants for 73 dispensary licenses to be awarded in the coming months.

About 230 entities submitted applications, with 16 submitting more than 10 applications each. Three entries were made from Marion:

  • Shangri-La Dispensary at 1565 Marion Waldo Road, Marion

  • Shangri-La Dispensary at 1088 Mt. Vernon Ave., Marion

  • The Green Goat Dispensary at 152 McMahan Blvd., Marion

The city has one existing dispensary: Sunnyside at 326 James Way.

Applications will be reviewed to ensure they meet requirements for operations, security and other regulations. The licenses will be awarded by lottery, with a certain number allocated for each dispensary district containing a county or group of counties. The board issued 58 licenses from the initial round of applications submitted in 2017.

The top five districts by the number of applications:

  • Cuyahoga County – 208 for five licenses.

  • Montgomery County –186 for four licenses.

  • Franklin County – 120 for nine licenses.

  • Summit County – 107 for two licenses.

  • A district containing Coshocton, Muskingum and Morgan counties – 101 for one license.

The pharmacy board plans to choose the winners in January, but has yet to release details about the process.

Citizen Real Estate LLC, which does business as Klutch Cannabis, submitted the most applications with 73, followed by Nectar Markets of Ohio LLC with 38 applications and Hempnotize LLC with 37.

Applications have not yet been made publicly available, but state business incorporation records link Nectar Markets of Ohio to Oregon cannabis retailer Nectar Markets and Hempnotize to Michigan marijuana licensee Waseem Younis.

Ten locations were listed as the site in 20 or more applications. The five with the most applications were former Family Video locations in Dayton (43 applications), Coshocton (38 applications), Springfield (32 applications), Tiffin (31 applications) and Delphos (27 applications).

Only one entity applied for the sole license available in the district containing Greene, Madison and Fayette counties: Big Perm's Dispensary Ohio LLC in Jeffersonville.

A $5,000 fee was required for each application.
