Three masked suspects steal victim’s Jeep at gunpoint while leaving a Wisconsin Menards

MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Officers in southern Wisconsin are looking for multiple suspects who allegedly stole a Jeep at gunpoint while the victim was leaving a Menards on Monday afternoon.

A release from the Madison Police Department notes that the incident happened at the Menards in the 400 block of Commerce Drive around 4:10 p.m. on January 29.

Officers say the victim was returning to his vehicle when he saw three masked people surrounding it. The victim reported to authorities that all three were armed with handguns and demanded the keys to the vehicle.

The victim called 911 and was able to describe both vehicles to officers after the suspects drove away in his Jeep Grand Cherokee and another vehicle parked nearby.

After responding officers spotted the vehicles near Frisch, Schroeder, and Hammersley Roads, a traffic stop was attempted on Frisch Road, but the vehicle allegedly sped away. Sometime later, the driver got off at Todd Drive and reportedly crashed into a sign on a frontage road before driving away.

That vehicle was later found unoccupied nearby, however, the stolen Jeep has not yet been found.
