Three men sentenced to prison in connection to 2020 murder of Rockport woman
Three men arrested in connection to the shooting death of a 29-year-old Rockport woman in 2020 took plea deals on Friday.

In January 2020, 29-year-old Rebecca Maloney was found in a silver metal toolbox dumped on the side of Railroad Street in Aransas Pass. Maloney died of a gunshot wound to the head. Police suspected she had been shot several hours earlier at the Rahi Motel and Cottages in Aransas Pass, less than 3 miles from where her body was found.
The police department arrested Luis Garza-Gonzalez, 33, on suspicion of murder on Jan. 29, 2020. A week later, police arrested Jaime Garcia, 41, and Luis Perez, 44, for their suspected involvement in Maloney's death.
On Friday, Garcia and Perez pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence and were sentenced to 10 years in prison. Garza-Gonzalez pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
