Three Missouri men receive federal indictment for string of armed robberies
MISSOURI — Three men are indicted on federal armed robbery charges for a string of robberies around the state of Missouri in January 2023.
The three men, Kahvaseon Z. Smith, 25, and Janaia R. Cason, 26, both of Columbia, and Kentrail M. Collins, 26, of Kansas City, are charged in a 12-count indictment that includes two armed robberies – one in Jasper County and one in Barton County.

According to the US Attorney’s Office, the three men began their crime spree on January 5 in Columbia, Boonville, and then Oak Grove.
Three days later, on January 8, authorities said the three men robbed the Casey’s General Store on N. Main St. in Airport Dr.
Shortly after that robbery, police said they robbed Lamarti’s truck stop in Lamar.
Officials said one of the men has previous felony convictions for burglary, robbery and resisting arrest.
