Three Pairs of Nike Kobe 5 Protros to Release This Month

Although a majority of the late NBA icon Kobe Bryant’s Nike products have been on pause following his tragic passing in January, it looks like new styles of the Nike Kobe 5 Protro could finally be releasing soon.

According to the sneaker-leaking Instagram account @J23app, three colorways of Bryant’s fifth signature basketball sneaker with the Swossh are hitting shelves this month.

The first colorway will arrive on Aug. 23 featuring a regal “White/Gold/Black” color scheme that features details throughout the upper celebrating when Bryant captured his fifth NBA championship in 2010 against his rivals, the Boston Celtics.

Next up is a Los Angeles Lakers-inspired colorway scheduled to drop on Aug. 24, which is also recognized as Kobe Bryant Day as a nod to the 8 and 24 jersey numbers he wore during his illustrious NBA career. The shoe dons a combination of purple and gold inspired by the team’s signature color palette, while a white foam midsole and translucent rubber outsole complete the look.

Lastly is the “EYBL” makeup, inspired by Nike Basketball’s Elite Youth Basketball League, which is launching on Aug. 29. It sports a pine green upper that’s contrasted by white trims on the eyelets and toe cap. Additional details include a vibrant yellow sock liner, EYBL and Bryant’s logos adorning the tongue, which sits atop a green midsole and white outsole.

As of now, Nike Basketball has not confirmed that the trio of Nike Kobe 5 Protro styles are releasing but reports suggest they will drop on Nike.com and at select Nike Basketball retailers. Retail pricing will reportedly range between $180 and $200.
