Two years before the deadly chaos that unfolded at Friday night’s Astroworld Festival, three people were trampled and hospitalized in 2019 after frenetic fans rushed the entrance of Travis Scott’s annual music event in Houston.

The “Sicko World” rapper founded the multi-day festival in his native Texas city in 2018. The following year, music-lovers turned up in droves for the second Astroworld, with the 2019 mayhem kicking off well before a single act took the stage in NRG Park.

Just minutes before the gates were set to open, attendees climbed over barriers and raced toward the entrance of the venue, according to ABC 13. Three people were injured in the subsequent stampede and transported to Memorial Hermann with minor leg injuries.

A video shared online by Scott, whose real name is Jacques Webster, shows the moment attendees busted down the barrier between them and the show.

“EVERYONE HAVE FUN. RAGERS SET TONE WHEN I COME OUT TONIGHT. BE SAFE RAGE HARD. AHHHHHHHHHHH,” he captioned the clip.

An estimated 50,000 people attended the event that year, many of who waited in line over night to be let into the venue.

While Astroworld was canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19, the annual event returned on Friday to NRG.

At least eight people died and hundreds more were injured after fans pushed toward the stage amid the festival’s opening night. Authorities said it’s still unclear what exactly triggered the fear-fueled stampede.

“Our hearts are with the Astroworld Festival Family tonight — especially those we lost and their loved ones,” the event organizers wrote in a statement.

Saturday’s Astroworld events were canceled after the deadly stampede.
