Three Pittsburgh Public Schools closed due to positive COVID-19 cases
Three schools in the Pittsburgh Public School District are transitioning to synchronous remote instruction for the remainder of the week due to rising COVID-19 case numbers.
According to press releases from the school district, Pittsburgh Lincoln, Pittsburgh Phillips and Pittsburgh Miller will be closed for the remainder of the week.
Pittsburgh Phillips PreK-5 is closed after breaching its 5% threshold of positive COVID-19 cases. No one will be allowed into the school until May 23.
Pittsburgh Miller PreK-5 announced its temporary closure just after 3 p.m. Tuesday. The district says that Pittsburgh Miller is experiencing staffing shortages that are related to positive COVID-19 cases, exposure-related quarantines and other staff absences. Pittsburgh Lincoln PreK-5 is closed due to similar shortages.
All three schools will follow their traditional bell schedules and instruction will be held via Microsoft Teams.
