Three players from champion Hamlin lead All-NEC boys basketball team

Three players from conference champion Hamlin have been named to the 2022-23 All-Northeast Conference boys basketball team.

Junior Tyson Stevenson and sophomore Easton Neuendorf each earned first-team honors and senior Brennan Keszler second-team honors for the Chargers, who went 9-0 in league play.

Other first-team honorees are seniors Kaplan Felberg and Trey Huber of Clark-Willow Lake and junior Lane Tietz of Groton Area.

The second team includes senior Gavin Benck of Deuel; juniors Jacob Zak of Groton Area, Garrett Mertens of Milbank Area and Trey Maaland of Deuel.

Third-team selections are seniors Jerron Haider of Redfield, Braydon Simon of Deuel and Tate Larson of Groton Area and juniors Maddox Miller of Aberdeen Roncalli and Joe Schulte of Milbank.

Tietz repeated as a first-team honoree. Stevenson and Neuendorf were each second-team selections and Keslzer, Felberg and Maaland each third-team picks last winter.

Final NEC Standings: 1. Hamlin, 9-0; 2. Clark-Willow Lake, 8-1; 3. (Tie) Groton Area, Milbank and Deuel, each 7-3; 6. Tiospa Zina, 4-5; 7. Redfield, 4-6; 8. (Tie) Aberdeen Roncalli and Webster Area, each 3-7; 10. Britton-Hecla, 1-8; 11. Sisseton, 0-10.
