Three new restaurants will open at Charlotte-area food hall. Here’s what to know
A raw bar, an ice cream shop and an Asian restaurant are opening at Concord’s Gibson Mill Market next summer.
North Carolina-based Scratch Made Hospitality is bringing the new restaurants to the Market:
Barcos Raw Bar will be a satellite raw bar for Barcos Food Company.
Ice Cream shop Churn Buddies will open its second location at the Market.
Kuni’s Kitchen will be an Asian eatery.
“My grandmother taught me that the best way to bring people together was through great homemade food,” co-owner Ryan Bybee said in a statement. Kuni’s Kitchen is named after a family friend, he said. “It was also her relationship with Kuni, who my grandmother quickly welcomed into the family and her kitchen, that inspired Kuni’s Kitchen.”
Scratch Made Hospitality, owned by Bybee and David Herzing, currently has three North Carolina-based restaurants:
Village Corner Comfort Kitchen and Bar in Concord (which has been named the Best Restaurant in Cabarrus County)
Churn Buddies Ice Cream (the original location is in Concord)
Barcos Food Company (which will open in Oriental, North Carolina, later this year).
The new restaurants will join existing Gibson Mill tenants, including Ellie’s Diner (in The Cotton Room inside The Depot Antique Mall), High Branch Brewing Co. and Cabarrus Brewing Co. (at 329 McGill Ave.). Defined Coffee and Johnny Roger’s BBQ & Burgers are opening soon.
