Three Rivers Health District begins vaccinating residents in Phase 2

The Virginia Department of Health’s Three Rivers Health District, which represents King William, King and Queen, West Point and eight other localities in the Tidewater region, announced Monday it would begin vaccinating folks in Phase 2, according to a release issued by the district.

According to the Virginia Department of Health, Phase 2 includes anyone 16 and older. Parents can pre-register their children online at vaccinate.virginia.gov. For 16- and 17-year-olds, parents will need to be present in order to receive their vaccinations.

“We are excited about the progress we have made in vaccinations in our community so far,” Three Rivers Health Districts Health Director Richard Williams stated in the release. “We look forward to expanding vaccination opportunities to the general public who have been waiting their turn.”

While the district is currently vaccinating Phase 1a, 1b, 1c and 2, vaccine supply remains limited. As a result, folks will need to make an appointment in order to receive their vaccines, the release stated.
