Three severely injured in UTV crash

Oct. 23—One man and two women were seriously injured after going airborne in a 2019 Polaris RZR 1000 and hitting an embankment in Livingston County on Sunday.

The crash occurred at 12:30 a.m. on County Road 306, two and a half miles north of Avalon, Missouri.

The UTV traveled off the roadway as it approached a bridge and became airborne. It hit an embankment on the other side of the creek and came to rest in the creek bed, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

James R. Adams, 39, and Lindsay E. Adams, 35, both of Hale, Missouri, and Dena N. Wright, 34, of Carrollton, Missouri, all were seriously injured. James Adams and Wright were taken by Life Flight Eagle to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. Lindsay Adams was transported by ambulance to Liberty Hospital.

None of the occupants were wearing seat belts, according to crash reports.
