Three-star linebacker Karmelo Overton commits to Memphis football

Memphis football has been quiet on the recruiting front but the Tigers made some noise Saturday night by securing a commitment from three-star linebacker Karmelo Overton.

The 6-foot, 200-pound Overton, who attends Carroll High School in Ozark, Alabama, announced his commitment on Twitter. Per 247Sports, he's now the Tigers' highest-ranked commitment in the 2023 class. Rivals has Overton listed as a four-star recruit.

Overton listed Memphis among his top 10 schools in March. The list included Tennessee, Arkansas, Arizona State and Missouri, among others.

Overton is also a track athlete who participates in the hurdles and high jump.
