Florida State no longer has a quarterback committed to its 2023 recruiting class.

Not after Chris Parson, a three-star quarterback, announced his decommitment from the Seminoles via Twitter on Tuesday.

The news shouldn't be considered surprising.

Parson had long been wavering on his pledge to FSU, which he made public last July. He's widely expected to flip to the school both of his parents attended in Mississippi State.

Earlier this summer, the Seminoles made known their intentions to sign two quarterbacks this cycle. On May 24, they extended scholarship offers to a pair of 2023 quarterbacks in Baton Rouge (La.) Woodlawn’s Rickie Collins, who is committed to Purdue, and Memphis (Tenn.) Lausanne Collegiate School’s Brock Glenn.

Those offers didn't seem to sit well with Parson.

The Brentwood (Tennessee ) Ravenwood product promptly started to announce the offers he received from other schools. Then he visited MSU for a recruiting camp last month. Parson also took official visits to SMU and FSU the following weekends.

The Seminoles now will continue to heavily pursue Glenn, who is expected to announce his decision soon. FSU is thought be the overwhelming favorite to land his commitment. He's also considering Ohio State, LSU, TCU and Auburn.

With Parson's decommitment, the Seminole 2023 class now holds 10 pledges. The class comes in at No. 18 (On3), No. 41 (Rivals) and No. 44 (247Sports) nationally among the major three recruiting services.
