Three to Stream: BottleRock live shows kick off with Muse and Imagine Dragons

We’re devoting our usual “Three to See” concert space to rounding up some info on what local and out-of-town artists are up to as we continue to fight COVID-19. Hosting a show online or releasing new music? Message us on Instagram with details: @adavis_threetosee.

BottleRock starts weekly shows (3 p.m. Saturday, May 23): The Napa mainstay was bumped to October by coronavirus, but the organizers can’t wait that long. Saturday will kick off a weekly series with Imagine Dragons, Muse, The Head and the Heart and Tash Sultana. They’ll also be raising money for the Napa Valley Food Bank. Here’s a thing: It’s live or nothing. BottleRock’s YouTube channel won’t archive the shows so you’ll need to catch them live or possibly recorded by a nefarious online pirate of some sort. www.youtube.com/BottleRockNapa.

Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival live streams: It’s the first time in nearly half a century the annual Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival, traditionally held in Grass Valley in June, won’t happen, so the organizers are taking the event online with a series of weekly live streams on Saturday nights, leading up to the would-have-been festival date on June 20. The first stream kicks off at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 23 with Frank Solivan, Bill Evans, Crying Uncle, the Bettyjacks and Kathleen Rushing all performing. Donations are being accepted for the host California Bluegrass Association’s COVID-19 artist relief fund, and they’re also launching a benefit auction running through June 20. www.turnyourradio.online.

Dustbowl Revival’s ‘Sway-At-Home II’ (1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24): We make no qualms about being big fans of L.A. juke joint hot jazz troupe Dustbowl Revival over here at “Three.” In addition to releasing new single “Queen Quarantine” on May 22, they’ve teed up the second installment of their self-curated “Sway-At-Home” festival; I don’t use this term freely or frequently, but this lineup is lit! Each day features eight half-hour sets, with Saturday including bluegrass heroes Infamous Stringdusters, Shinyribs, Lilly Hiatt, the dapper Pokey LaFarge and the warm-hug soul of the War & Treaty. Sunday features jazz-folksters Leftover Cuties, Americana crooner Lindsay Lou, the versatile Valerie June and your hosts. They even cooked up a tasty Spotify sampler playlist to get you prepped. www.facebook.com/dustbowlrevival.

New tunes from Jackie Greene: The ever-generous Jackie Greene recorded a trio of songs — “Ain’t it Easy, “Everybody is Disappointing (In Person)” and “Recession Proof” — and simply loaded them up onto Google Drive for a free download. Also, if you haven’t caught any of his regular Sunday afternoon streams from his home studio yet, do so at once! The Sound Podcast even mashed together a sampler from those cozy sessions, one volume of originals and one of covers (unsurprisingly, lotsa Grateful Dead in there!). www.jackiegreene.com; www.thesoundpodcast.com/blog/DS_2

‘Remedy Revue’ virtual venue: The brand new locally-curated and “social distancing compliant” Remedy Revue launched earlier this month with some gigs from Michael Ray and Burning Daylight people (still up on their Twitch page), and this weekend is hosting a Saturday doubleheader with Red Dirt Ruckus (4 p.m.) and R&B artist Josh Knight (7 p.m.). www.twitch.tv/remedyrevue.

Strawberry Festival virtual content: No specific streams planned, but the postponed-until-2021 Strawberry Music Festival has some nostalgia flowing on its website on what would have been its full weekend of music. www.strawberrymusic.com.

‘One Earth Live’ (Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24): Headlining acts for this transformative, globally focused multi-stream event include John Butler, Michael Franti, Nahko, Krishna Das, Beats Antique, Mike Love, Rising Appalachia, Chali 2Na and tons more. oneearthlive.com.
