After hanging around for the first 12 minutes in OKC, the Thunder fell apart in the second quarter as Stephen Curry and the Warriors exploded to take a 21-point lead into the half.

Just two days after breaking Wilt Chamberlain’s all-time Warriors scoring record, Curry led the way again with 42 points in just 29 minutes. There was no answer on OKC’s roster, or possibly any NBA roster, for the all-star tonight.

The youth movement was led by Darius Bazley and Moses Brown who combined for 40 points, but the Thunder couldn’t find the stops to stay in it.

Here are three takeaways from a loss that dropped the Thunder to 20-35 on the year while taking Golden State to 27-28 overall:

The Warriors look primed to end up in the first ever 7 seed through 10 seed NBA play-in tournament and Stephen Curry showed the Thunder why he is not somebody you want to see in a one game scenario. While Curry has taken over games with his unlimited range and ability to get looks off against nearly any defense you throw at him, this week has been the Davidson product at his absolute best. With back-to-back 40-plus point performances, arguably the best shooter in NBA history is peaking at the perfect time.

The young Thunder team on the floor Wednesday night was not put together for a win as OKC fans are well aware of heading into the home stretch of the year. Their youth showed on the defensive end, where the Thunder allowed Golden State to shoot over 50% from three. With Curry, the goal should be to limit his attempts rather than focus on his scoring output. While that is easier said than done, the Warriors star got up 16 three-point attempts, making 11, in just three quarters.

Darius Bazley led the way for the Thunder with 22 points on 10-18 shooting from the field while finding success on the interior. Despite not making a three in three attempts, Bazley got his work done on the drive. Moses Brown led the Thunder in rebounds with 12 and ended the night with the lone double-double, dropping 18 points.
