Three things to know about Mariah Bell, 2022 U.S. national champion, in US Figure Skating Championships

Nashville will host the 2022 U.S. Figure Skating Championships starting next at Bridgestone Arena.

The event will being with the Junior Championship on Jan. 4 and the Championship competition starts on Jan. 6. It is the last chance for skaters to make the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

NBC will broadcast the championships.

Multi-Time U.S. Medalist

She took home the silver medal in the 2020 at the U.S. National Championship. She took home bronze medals at the 2017 and 2019 events. After placing fifth in the 2018 championship she was named the second alternate for the U.S. Olympic team.

2020 Skate America Winner

Using a first place finish in the short program, Bell took home the gold medal in the 2020 Skate America competition. She placed fourth during the free skate but her strong short program helped her get the overall gold. It was her first gold medal in a Grand Prix event.

Reverted to old routine

With the Olympics on the way Bell had changed up both of her routines after a bronze medal finish at the Skating Club of Boston's Cranberry Cup. She reverted her Free Skating to her old routine to Hallelujah that helped her take silver at the U.S. championship in 2020. Adam Rippon and Molly Oberstar created a new short program to "River Flows in You" by Yiruma.
