It is time for everyone’s favorite part of the football week.

Three Throws With Scho!

Okay, while that might not exactly be true, it is time to take a look at some of the best quarterback play that Week 7 had to offer. We’ll look at a quarterback redefining the term “hole shot,” a great performance from Derek Carr, Aaron Rodgers doing some Aaron Rodgers things, Joe Burrow leading the Cincinnati Bengals to a huge win on the road, and a whole lot more.

Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

Perhaps the biggest win of the weekend came in Baltimore, where the Cincinnati Bengals rolled into town, took care of business and left the Inner Harbor tied with the Ravens atop the AFC North.

In the win, quarterback Joe Burrow completed 23 of 38 passes for 416 yards and three touchdowns, along with one interception. In this video, we’ll look at a well-designed touchdown to C.J. Uzomah, a good throw to beat a pressure package and another deep connection with rookie wideout Ja’Marr Chase:

Derek Carr was near-perfect on Sunday.

The quarterback completed 31 of 34 passes in the Raiders’ 33-22 win over the Eagles, throwing for 323 yards and two touchdowns, along with an interception. We’ll dive into a deep shot to Zay Jones on a double-move route, timing on the quick post, and arm angles from the pocket:

Note: The first play, referred to as a “fourth down situation,” really came on third down because the Eagles accepted a holding penalty.

Football analysts love the “hole shot” throw. The moment where a quarterback has to attack deep downfield along the sideline against a Cover-2 look in the secondary, behind the cornerback and to the outside, away from the nearest safety. It is that kind of “scholarship” throw that defenses will give you when playing that coverage, daring you to try and make that pass.

On Sunday, Kyler Murray took the idea of the hole shot throw to a new level:

Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers was up to his old tricks on Sunday in Green Bay’s 24-10 win over Washington. The veteran passer completed 27 of 35 throws for 274 yards and three touchdowns, as the Packers improved to 6-1 on the season.

In this breakdown, we’ll dive into a touchdown throw to Robert Tonyan, throwing the safety-splitter in the middle of the field, and how the Packers seemed to take advantage with other matchups when coverage was rolled towards Davante Adams:

Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

The Detroit Lions pulled out all the stops in the “Jared Goff Revenge Bowl,” but ultimately Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams had too much in the tank for the Lions to overcome. The new Rams quarterback had another solid afternoon, completing 28 of 41 passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns, without an interception.

We’ll dive into three of those throws, with a huge cameo from wide receiver Cooper Kupp who was on the receiving end of each:

Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons

We close this out with veteran quarterback Matt Ryan, who led the Atlanta Falcons to a 30-28 win in Miami over the Dolphins. On the afternoon, Ryan completed 25 of 40 passes for 336 yards and a pair of touchdowns, along with an interception.

This video highlights three big throws in the vertical passing game, as well as how the QB uses his eyes to create opportunities downfield:
