Three Trump-Related Rallies Saturday In Parsippany

PARSIPPANY, NJ—Three demonstrations are scheduled in Parsippany on Saturday, with two in support of President Trump and one against the president.

The first rally, at Veteran's Memorial Park, is described as a "PRO POLICE, PRO MILITARY, and PRO TRUMP" gathering, is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the park on Route 46 East and Vail Road.

"Wear your Trump gear, hats etc. Bring American flags, Trump flags, and signs. Please also bring a mask so we can show we are following Covid guidelines. Plan to have a blast!" said the event's Facebook page.

The second pro-Trump event, organized by a separate group, will also gather on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Smith Field Park near the intersection of Route 46 and Baldwin Road. The event page asked participants to bring Trump and American Flags, signs, hats and masks.

A third protest, "Anyone But Trump" plans to gather at Route 46 and Baldwin Road at 11 a.m.

"This is not a Blue/Red thing at this point," the event announcement said, "it's something much bigger, sadly. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing. And most of all respect one another—no matter the points of view!"

Parsippany police said there would be areas for counter-protesters at each location.

"We have a security plan in place to help assure the safety of anyone present," said Parsippany Police spokesman Sgt. Brian Conover, "along with anyone who may be passing through the area. "Everyone will be able to safely exercise their First Amendment rights."
