Three-vehicle crash on Colo. 66 leaves seven injured

Jul. 3—A three-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon near the intersection of Colo. 66 and Elmore Road left seven injured, including all three drivers, according to Colorado State Patrol.

At 4:41 p.m., a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling westbound on Colo. 66 when it rear-ended a Toyota RAV 4, which was stopped on Colo. 66 at Elmore Road, according to CSP. The impact caused the Toyota to enter the eastbound lane, where a Ford Taurus hit the Toyota head-on. The Ford Taurus veered off into a ditch on the southeast side of the road.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee was being driven by a 91-year-old woman, who was traveling with a 29-year woman from Mead and two girls, CSP said. The 29-year-old and the girls had minor injuries, however, the driver was transported with serious injuries.

A 32-year-old woman from Westminster was driving the Toyota, along with a 36-year-old Littleton man. Both sustained moderate injuries, according to CSP.

The driver of the Ford was a Brighton man, 58, who had serious injuries, CSP said. He was traveling with a 60-year-old Brighton woman, who had minor injuries.

CSP said no alcohol or drugs nor excessive speed are suspected in the crash.
