Three Warriors earn all-conference honors

Mar. 3—OXFORD — The 2022-2023 basketball season for J.F. Webb was filled with success, as the Warriors clinched their second consecutive state playoff appearance, finished with 15 wins, and averaged just south of 75 points per game.

On Wednesday, three members of the program received recognition for their season-long performance, earning all-conference honors in the 2A/3A Northern Lakes Athletic Conference.

Seniors Cameron Wilkerson, Jamarri Williams, and Markeevis Latta were selected among the league's top performers after helping Webb to a 15-12 overall record and 6-6 finish in conference play.

Wilkerson was a two-way standout for the Warriors, pouring in 12 points per game and was the No. 1 defender for Coach Tharp's squad. He was tasked with guarding an opponent's best player and played a big role in their success.

In his final season in Oxford, Jamarri Williams was nothing short of impressive for Webb, recording 500 points to average 19.1 per game.

Williams was first on the roster with an astounding 69 three-pointers made and connected on 39% of his attempts from beyond the arc.

Rounding out the trio of all-conference honorees, Markeevis Latta continued his successful career with the Warriors as their leading scorer.

The senior guard averaged a team-high 19.8 points and 3.6 assists per game, earning an all-conference selection for the third consecutive season.

Latta finished his high school career with 1,227 points, becoming the fifth player in Webb history to reach the 1,000-point milestone and the first to do so since 2014.
