Three Westchester spots make Wine Spectator's 2022 restaurant awards list

Wine Spectator, a leading authority on wine, has unveiled the winners of its 2022 Restaurant Awards — and three Westchester restaurants are on the list.

Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, Crabtree's Kittle House in Chappaqua and Moderne Barn in Armonk, were each noted for their extensive wine programs, which include vintages from France, Italy and California, among other areas.

The awards, which will appear in the magazine's July issue recognizes 3,169 dining destinations from across the U.S. and more than 70 countries internationally.

This year's winners of the Grand Award, the program’s highest honor, include, for the first time: Gabriel Kreuther in New York and Press Restaurant in Napa Valley.

Launched in 1981, the Restaurant Awards are assigned on three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award, with 1,782; 1,290; and 97 winners this year in each respective category. This year the list paid special attention to environmentally conscious winemaking practices.
