Find out which three Wicomico schools are up for big improvements with bond sale

A bond sale approved by Wicomico County Council recently for over $12 million is slated to provide funds for much needed repairs at three county schools.

The approved legislative bill would raise an estimated $12,052,500 in bond sale revenue to cover expenses for the Salisbury Regional Airport and three renovation projects at county Schools. They include $2,100,000 for renovations and expansions at Mardela High/Middle School, $950,000 for roof renovations at Wicomico High School and $1,208,000 for roof repairs at Parkside High School.

"I'll ask that (upon approval) of the bill if it's done today, that it be signed today as well to meet financing timelines," said Pam Oland, Director of Finance for the county.

While some of the school renovations have already started, like the Mardela expansion and roof replacement, some of the monies raised will go to reimbursement of some related expenses.
